IN SEARCH OF OUR TREASURES
Meeting people or getting to know the initiatives that take care of the protection of our territory and the artistic-cultural heritage of our land is always an opportunity not to be missed: for this reason it was held Monday January 14 at the premises of Secondary School of Arce, the meeting with the Coordinators of the SIT Project (School Information and Territory), a training initiative, promoted in collaboration with the local editorial daily "Ciociaria Oggi", which has as main purpose the knowledge and enhancement of artistic, landscape and cultural treasures of the province of Frosinone, through support activities for teachers in the creation of educational paths, structured with a playful approach, and aimed at sensitizing students to the rediscovery of "Ciociaria Treasures".
The project proposal, therefore, reserved for primary and secondary school students, is well matched with the Educational Offer put in place by the teachers of the Comprehensive Institute "Giovanni Paolo II" of Arce who, for several years, have been actively involved in the creation of specific educational itineraries aimed at protecting, conserving and safeguarding our territory, such as the "Environment Project" and the initiatives of Active Citizenship, such as the CCR (Municipal Council of the Boys) Project and the Erasmus + Project, “Sharing our Treasures for a better future”.
The "Environment Project", an interdisciplinary proposal addressed to the pupils of the Infant School, Primary and Secondary, develops, through practical and laboratory activities, themes aimed at respecting the domestic, school, urban and natural environment; energy saving, separate waste collection and various recycling methods; to the evaluation, finally, of ethical behavior aimed at sustainable development.
The CCR Project, instead, promotes the achievement of key objectives of Citizenship, those skills that all pupils need for personal fulfillment and development, active citizenship, social inclusion and employment, taking due account of the territorial political and administrative framework. The perspective of Active Citizenship Education and the practical experimentation of interaction with the municipal administrations constitute the central axis of the CCR project, in which the founding nuclei of the disciplines converge with interactive and constructive ways of learning in a didactic innovative and laboratory type.
Finally, the Erasmus + project, with the significant title "Sharing our Treasures for a Better Future", flagship of the educational offer of the Institute directed by Dr. Nunzia Milite, resumes broadly discussed issues in the project "In Search of the Ciociaria Treasures", projecting them into a European dimension in which shared experiences of reflection on the importance of Italian historical, archaeological, artistic and landscape heritage are dynamically compared with those of other European countries, in the perspective of an intercultural and inter-professional exchange aimed at improving communication skills in English, social-relational skills and, above all, to broaden the cultural horizons of our students.
The event organized by the teachers and students of the "John Paul II" Institute, therefore, foreseeing the participation of the Baby-Mayors, pupils involved in student mobility and the various teachers referring to the projects, was undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to put in evidence the constant and assiduous commitment that for so many years has involved the entire school community of our territory.
I build bed-side tables and chairs
Others objects you can see there
I am Geppetto’s colleague…
Carpenter and nice worker
Here they call me Three Buttons
I have many other nicknames
But I don’t remember my name…
So Three Buttons you can call me (x3)
